A round cartoon hippo looks upward with its mouth wide open beneath a small falling slice of cake. The contrast between the large face and the tiny treat makes the intended catch immediately understandable. A plain warm background gives the airborne slice plenty of room, and the low placement of the hippo leaves a clear path above it. The birthday joke depends on timing and aim rather than on decorative balloons or a party hat. The open mouth and hovering dessert are both present in the opening view. This hippo birthday GIF sets up its birthday joke with an open mouth and a falling slice of cake.

Choose this greeting for someone who enjoys slapstick food humor or a playful message about catching their share of the birthday cake. A short note about keeping an eye on the prize fits the image. Avoid cropping off the upper edge, because the small cake slice is just as important as the hippo's expression. The preview shows an optimistic attempt; the complete animation delivers the miss suggested by the title. It is a visual gag, so no audio is needed to follow the action. Share this hippo birthday GIF with a friend who enjoys cartoon timing and a little birthday dessert mishap.
